ISLAND GIRL AND MYGLAM BAG #1

Because I have no other subscriptions to companies that deliver beauty samples to my door each month, I've decided to dedicate a section of Island Stylicious to MYGLAM. I signed up for MyGlam after learning about it through Urban Decays website back in December 2011. Sadly, at the time that I signed up, I just missed their very first bag that got shipped out during the month of December. I got my teenage daughter excited about it once I paid for my $10 subscription. She and I were very pleased when we received my very first bag on January 17, 2012. The shipping package is super cute. I will be recycling mine and using it for mail purposes. The little beauty bag that carries the products is very simple and cute and comes with a zipper. I will be recycling mine by using it as a gift holder for a friend. The contents are just as the company claims. I received 3 full sized products and 1 deluxe sized sample.


There is a lot of information on the web about MyGlam and there is a lot of reviews on products received so I'll be keeping my write ups simple by only writing about products that work well in an island setting and ones that I like best from the bag. I will at times have my teenage daughters opinion in my write ups if there was a product she really liked since I share my bag contents with her. 


My January 2012 MyGlam bag contents were:
Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Peel-Off Mask in Cucumber 6 fl. oz
Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner 2 fl. oz.
The Balm Shady Lady Eye shadow in the color Luscious Lani 0.12 fl. oz
Sheer Cover Duo Concealer in the color Light/Medium 0.10 oz


I calculated a total price for what was received and I've come up with an estimate of $55-$60 worth of product that I spent $10 on. For me, that's amazing! I don't know how Michelle Phan and the rest of the My Glam team are doing it but my hats off to them. They are doing an awesome job!!!!


The FREEMAN FACIAL PEEL-OFF MASK has been a hit in my home. Not only do me and my daughter love it but my husband loves it too. There's a cooling sensation when first applied to dry skin. I do leave mine on past 10 minutes because I get busy and forget about the mask being on my face but it does dry within 5-10 minutes. We all agree that the mask is fun to use and the mask peels off with no irritation to your skin or pulling on your facial hairs. After use, our skin is left feeling super soft and clean. Our rating of this product is EXCELLENT and it's an added bonus that all members of the family can enjoy this product.


I was familiar with the WEN CLEANSING CONDITIONER. I used it before for a week straight because I was visiting a friend and she wanted me to try the product while I was staying with her. After using it for a second time, I'm just as pleased as I was before. My hair is full of body and shine and the roots and ends of my hair feel extra strong. I love the smell too. I'm typically a big fan of anything minty. When the steam from the shower hits the smell, I feel refreshed and invigorated. This product gets an EXCELLENT rating. I will be purchasing a full sized product and the shampoo as soon as I'm done using what I have now.
